Radiant City

These sculptures began as trash. The styrofoam shapes are the negative space left by computers, cameras or toaster ovens. They undergo a material shift, covered in fiberglass, plaster, silver leaf and fiber-optic lights—and come to resemble Utopian architecture, spaceship control panels and modernist-era sculpture. These Utopian structures reference a forgotten belief in an ideal future.
